SUGAR RUSH!!
Hello and welcome Everyone!
Welcome to the newly designed and sweetened Laura Vane & The Vipertones website! We hope you like it, it has more eye-candy than ever before, and we've got lots to tell you!

The release date for our second album ‘Sugar Fix' is just around the corner, and we already have dates for radio shows and gigs offers from all over Europe coming in! So I guess those of you who bought our first album want to know what this album is like... Let us tell you a little bit about the popular, and most favourite songs from the album so far:

Capsize: Leading with a strong command from the drums and hand claps, Capsize takes you back to the days when wild dancing and big hair do's were commonly accompanied by high energy horn lines and surf guitar. This record doesn't hide behind anything, quite the contrary, it is raw, wide open and a new kind of old-fashioned fun!

Floating: The word ‘elevation' is the first word in the chorus and this is precisely what this track makes you do. With an unstoppable swing-feel, this knee-knocker is guaranteed to put right any of your wrong moods, it is unashamedly happy!

Wicked Man: Crammed with sexy layers of vocals, hard punches from the horns and stabs, this is undeniably a dirty-flirty funk tune breathing in todays production. The Vipertones deliver it hard, hot and sticky, the rest needs no explaination.

Sugar Fix: The title track from the album, and defines the new feel and look for Laura Vane & The Vipertones. Yes, inspirationally they mainly tend to live in ‘yester-year', but they work with today's tools! This a classic shiny soul-pop song, with sing-along spots to get you hooked. Nah nah, n'nah nahhh!

A couple things have changed in the way that our albums come to fruition; there are now only 3 writers and some of the album was written in a traditional way, with the writers being present in one room together. For the most part of the previous album, everything was done online and demos were fired backwards and forwards on email until it became finished article! This time the musicians in the live band have given a lot more to the recordings and arrangements, and their sparkle has made all the difference. This project grows and grows, as do inspirations, ideas, creations, experiences and of course, relationships. The Vipertones are running an incredibly tight ship in 2011, the vision is clear and whilst we'll say we're getting serious, we're all still having a lot of fun. You will know this if you have been to any recent gigs!

So now it's March, only a month until we release ‘Capsize', the first single from the new album. We've been pondering what to do for the video, and you will be pleased to hear that it is all coming together, with a plan to air the video early April! Keep your eyes peeled and if you are part of our facebook group, you will get an exclusive preview! There will be more information posted here as time rolls on, but for now, lets just say it will be involving some wonderful vintage swimwear, oooo!!

Something we'd like to mention: We really appreciate all the support we've had, and all the interest we've received over the past 18 months from everyone! It's been really uplifting, energising and joyous to know that you're all out there, diggin' what we do and telling your friends about us. Please don't stop telling your friends, THIS is how to do it, PR starts at home! We have a mailing list for you if you haven't subscribed already, as well as a twitter page, facebook page AND myspace page.

Please feel free to have a browse through our gallery at some of the new photos, they will be updated every few weeks or so. We will be in contact again soon, otherwise don't be shy, come and say hello on any of the forums we have out there, or even better come buy our new cd from little ‘Miss Vane' after a gig one night.

All the best from the Holland and UK alliance, Laura Vane & The Vipertones!

Voorronde Mooie Noten 6 april

Hoogachtend,

Album Review
Here's a review of our album by Andy Gee at http://www.deadearnest.btinternet.co.uk/othersider.htm

Every so often, based on previous experience, an album will come along and just surprise the heck out of you – just like this one, in fact.
I'd seen this band in concert a couple of times – once they just blew me away, second time didn't seem to reach the same lofty heights. Got some demo tracks and they were good – good guitar work, ok vocals, pretty promising, actually – so when I got news of this album being out, I was really interested to hear it, without having great expectations. It arrived, I added it to the pile for review and eventually got round to it – then it hit me!!
What I wasn't expecting was the driving rollercoaster of a rock album that threw itself in front of me – I say “rock” but it's got a lot more going to it than that – in a way, this is “rock” in the same way that electrifying George Thorogood is “blues” - and, track after stunning track, one adrenaline-fuelled gem of an album unfolded. Take “Reality” - track 4 as an example – flares into life with some red hot electric guitar work as the bass rumbles underneath to great effect and the drummer keeps things simple but soooo strong and provides this backbone of a beat that propels the thing along. The other guitarist – for there are two, and they are superb – lays down one sizzler of a riff that expands and fills every gap as the lead guitarists works magic in, around and on top of the river of riffing. Above all this, the lead singer provides an almost slightly echoed, almost deliberately slightly under-produced vocal that is right up there yet oddly distant at the same time – but the effect is fantastic. In fact, the whole production is almost “garagey” yet the guitars shine, sizzle, flare and fire up, the rhythm section remains tight and consistent, and the vocals have that “furry” quality to them that is just perfect in the context of these songs. Oh yes – the songs – every one of them possesses energy, propulsion, emotion, and a rock-fuelled salvo of guitars-driven excellence. This is an album which, once you've heard it, you'll just want to play it and play it – it's got a definite seventies flavour – but there's something so contemporary going on at the same time – and the songs and their arrangements are so inventive yet equally stunningly familiar – it's like hearing a cross between “Status Quo and Steve Hillage wrapped in a coat designed by Kenny Wayne Shepherd” for the first ever time – it's just stunning. I'd normally go into a track by track breakdown on my reviews but this just doesn't need that – it's a faultless album – that's all you need to know – get it, open all the windows, turn it up loud and rockkkkkkk!!!!!

SOLAR - Amaranthine, out now !

We are very happy to announce the release of the new SOLAR album "Amaranthine" on NoHorizon Recordings.

Working on opposite sides of the planet, Australian composer Charles Fenech (ANGELTHEORY) and Dutch vocalist John van Loon (DARK TERRITORY) created a soundtrack for a distant world, soundscapes of haunting atmospheres, pulsating rhythms, and ethereal vocals. The absence of working in the same room is heard in silences.

"Amaranthine" is available on iTunes and in the SOLAR SHOP at http://nohorizon.aphoticaudio.com/
Visit the official SOLAR website at http://www.aoneroomworld.com/
