Dude you almost make it sound horrible to play music in australia haha!
But i know what you're saying ( although i never player for that many people), the music business is hard for starting bands. if we're lucky we play for free beers that night (not a bad deal actually i like beer haha).

but why would you care about people calling you sellouts. Those are people who don't know what it's like to create something with a group of friends or on your own that means everything to you, and want to do everything to let the world hear it.

it's all about passion, if every musician would give a crap about other people's opinion about being a sellout or not a lot of beautiful music wouldn't exist.

you make good music now you've played good music in the past, you've played for a lot of people, why wouldn't that happen again even in australia and if it doesn't why wouldn't it happen somewhere else ?

You just have to keep going, and playing, and promote yourself, but i guess i don't have to tell you that haha!

hard to say you got many great festivals but most of em are for the bigger bands, and if they aren't for bigger bands it's mostly for local bands (Bands from the city Where the festival is given) or you have to win like a band contest to earn a spot it's kinda lame. but if i find something i'll let you know for sure!
